On account of his indebtedness to AMCON the Ibadan office of the CEO of Avian Specialties, Gbenga James was over the weekend sealed off by officials of the institution.

The businessman was said to be owing about N3 billion, a debt bought over from Union Bank.

Gbenga James whose company ranks amongst the biggest in poultry farming in Nigeria had already been arrested by the EFCC alongside his wife.

A source gave a graphic description of how AMCON and the Nigerian police over the weekend stormed the Avian Specialty office in Challenge, Ibadan and carted away properties before they later sealed up the building.

The one-hour operation was said to have been led by one Saheed Fasanya with help from armed policemen.

The Asset Management Company of Nigeria was said to have allegedly stormed the Iyaganku home of the businessman where they also carted off his Bentley and some other luxury cars in his garage.

Gbenga James is one of the few ‘big boys’ that AMCON alleged to have ignored several demand notices for their non-performing loans thinking it was still business as usual.

It was gathered that AMCON is already facilitating lawful process to take over all his properties.

The Ibadan businessman is not new to such controversy. Some years ago he was arrested and detained by the EFCC for a poultry project he handled for Ekiti State Government where 800 million naira was alleged to have been misappropriated.

Achimugu, who serves as the Chairman of Bluewave Exploration and Production Limited, was detained last weekend after a civil society group filed a petition accusing her of involvement in dubious dealings concerning the contract.
