Groups Canvas Support For Bolanle Sarumi-Aliyu House Of Rep Candidacy
Political groups under the auspices of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Diaspora PDP Reformers and PDP National Women Parliament have canvassed support for the candidacy of Hon. Bolanle Sarumi-Aliyu, who is vying for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket to contest for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat in the 2023 general elections.
Omobolanle Sarumi-Aliyu, former gubernatorial candidate of the National Interest Party (NIP) and the founder of BASA Foundation, a non-governmental, non-political, non-profitable, non-political development organization, who recently declared her ambition, explained that her decision to contest for the House of Representatives seat is informed by her observation of a lot of misrepresentation in the legislative arm of government and poor accessibility of constituents to their representatives.
According to a statement signed by Mrs. Olanike Babawande, the Women Leader of the Diaspora PDP Reformers, Hon Sarumi-Aliyu, who is currently the Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora to Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, is regard as the best person for the job because she is a result oriented leader with a proven record of accomplishment that can sustain and consolidate on the gains of the Engr. Mrs. Babawande, however, urged voters and delegates of the party to support the aspiration of Bolanle Sarumi noting that she has the qualities to take Ibadan North to greater heights, describing the aspirant as the first female gubernatorial candidate to contest in Oyo state.

In a dramatic twist that has sent shockwaves through Osun’s political landscape, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared Hon. Adebayo Adedamola as its governorship flagbearer after a fiercely contested primary that saw him defeat incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke.
