It was a turbulent day for a close pal of the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, Dare Adeleke as he got more than he bargained for when he was beaten to a pulp at the PDP secretariat in Abuja some days ago.

Narrating his ordeal to friends, Dare who is the current Chairman of the Pacesetter Transport Services described the attack as an insult to him and their party.

He claimed he was in Abuja to pick up his appointment letter as the Secretary of the screening committee for the primary election of PDP for the Cross Rivers election.

In a letter he wrote to the National Chairman of the party, Uche Secondus, Adeleke described his attack thus ‘I arrived the PDP Secretariat at Wadata House, Abuja to attend to a certain official duty concerning my role as the Secretary of the screening committee for the Senatorial bye-elections in Cross River State North Senatorial District .

As I entered the office to receive my appointment letter from the secretary of the NOS I was suddenly attacked by Barrister Alphonsus Eba, Hon Chris Mbu and three other people. They were running blows on me and tore my clothes. I struggled to escape as they snatched my letter  and other documents I was holding. It took the intervention of policemen and other security personnel at the secretariat to rescue me from them. I was confused as they threatened me not to come to Cross Rivers State’.

A source hinted papermacheonline that the attack was instigated by a group loyal to the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose.

Adeleke, a gentleman by all indication was instrumental to the victory of Seyi Makinde to become the Governor of Oyo State.

Adeleke who was the former Youth coordinator of the PDP has a relationship with Chief Bode George, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and many other bigwigs in PDP.
