The ambition of lawmaker, Honorable Olalekan Adeola Solomon to represent the people of Lagos West in the Senate has been dealt a major blow barely some days after a violent clash on the streets of Lagos that left many of his supporters wounded with the recent death of one of his strongest backers who died of poisoning.

Afariogun Abiodun, an APC stalwart and the co-ordinator of Honorable Olalekan Solomon’s campaign in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government died some days ago in a circumstance which his family termed internal connection.

The late politician who was very influential and is responsible for the mobilization of party faithful in his area went on a drinking spree with other supporters of Honorable Solomon on Sunday February 8, 2015.

They were all said to have converged as part of their usual practice to strategise on how to deliver their wards to their principal and shared some bottles of alcohol together before they all dispersed to their respective homes.

The wife of the deceased recounted his unusual breathing. He was said to have convulsed, vomited blood and died before he could be taken to the hospital.

A source revealed to papermacheonline that there was an internal strife within the campaign team of ‘Yayi’ which presumably led to the death of the co-ordinator.

The senatorial candidate was shaken by the news based on his relationship with Afariogun and the understanding of what his death could do to his structures.

The police had since commenced investigation into the alleged murder.
