Ibadan high chief, Akinade Fijabi is battling to shed off some ill tales spreading around him.

The socialite who is considered to be among the ‘main men’of former Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi was said to have been ill during the period his politician friend, Senator Ajimobi was also battling for his life.

A source disclosed that Fijabi had an encounter with the former Governor some days before he was said admitted at the hospital where he later died of complications from covid-19.

It was gathered that Fijabi went into isolation as he started feeling strange and unwell.

Concerns about his health was later heightened with the death of another close aide of Ajimobi, Yahaya Badara who died from a strange ailment.

Ajimobi’s death some weeks later worsened the situation as friends and family members of Fijabi made frantic efforts to restore his health.

An insider explained to papermacheonline that ‘if not for God and some spiritualist, it would have been otherwise. You know Alhaji doesn’t joke with herbs and traditional treatment’.

His health issue was kept out of the public and he recently made an outing to silence the rumors making the rounds about his ill health.

Fijabi was spotted recently at the fidau prayers for the mother of the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi.

He was full of life and had a good time at the gathering, moving from table to table to acknowledge greetings from friends and admirers.
