Ahead 2023; Makinde Dumps Deputy, Favours Bayo Lawal As Running Mate

The Deputy-Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan has become the first victim of restructuring within the PDP in Oyo State towards the coming election in 2023.
The story around the State is that Governor Seyi Makinde who is claimed to have had a long, silent battle with his Deputy, Rauf Olaniyan is said to have jilted him and has picked one of his trusted men within the party to co-pilot their mission towards 2023.
There had been talks about the issue with the Governor and his Deputy.
Olaniyan who comes from Oke-Ogun part of Oyo State has been alleged of disloyalty.
The politician who claimed to have met the Governor at a time he was also planning to contest as a Governor had been seen frolicking with the APC lately, spurring some tales about his mission and plans towards 2023.
The Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Housing Corporation, Barrister Bayo Lawal has been tipped as the right replacement for the Deputy-Governor.
The news was not surprising to political pundits in the State who had witnessed how the relationship between Makinde and his Deputy became frosty.
