‘thank you Mr President’ Akpabio, Family Visit Tinubu

some hours after emerging the President of the 10th National Assembly, Senator Godswill Akpabio paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu.

 

The former Governor of Akwa Ibom State was accompanied by his wife, Ekaette and their two children.

 

At the visit, the President rose to meet the Senator and his family and Akpabio quickly reacted, saying ‘thank you Mr President’.

 

Akpabio in a vote this morning defeated Abdualaziz Yari polling 63 over Yari’s 46 votes.

 

The former Minister of NDDC is the choice of the ruling party, APC thus informing the reason he paid a thank you visit to the President.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Gbolahan Oyedemi, reportedly hung himself in his apartment in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

The deceased senior police officer, who was said to have gone home for the Easter celebration, was alone located at his Petros Academy Street, Federal Low-cost area residence.

Late Oyedemi who was in his 50s was Aide de Camp to late Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala during his eleven-month tenure as governor (January to December 2006

When ogbomosoinsightonline.com arrived at the residence at Petros Academy Street, Federal Low Cost area the police had cordoned off the area but sympathizers were seen in groups discussing the matter in a hushed tone.

“Sometimes he came home with police security l saw him recently driving personally into his beautiful mansion,” a neighbour said.

In her tribute, widow of the late Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu ignited some emotions as she gave an insight to her 42 years marriage to the lawyer.

 

Akeredolu was laid to rest in Owo, his hometown after a funeral service at the St Andrew’s Church, Owo which was well attended.

 

Betty Akeredolu’s tributes headlined the funeral programme as she detailed her love-life with the late Governor, their challenges and triumphs.

 

Dignitaries at the burial ceremony include the Ondo State Governor Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Governors of Oyo, Ogun, Lagos, Osun, Ekiti, Edo, Delta, Anambra and Benue States, Engineer Seyi Makinde, Dapo Abiodun, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Abiodun Oyebanji, Godwin Obaseki, Sheriff Oborevwori, Charles Soludo and Hyacinth Alia respectively and the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje and host of others.
