‘I slotted the construction of Eruwa road into the budget, govt didn’t drop a dime’ Oyo Speaker, Ogundoyin’s Statement Creates Political Storm

‘ Oloun, Ijoba o fi 1Naira sile, gbogbo ona ta shey, owo mi ni mo na!’ The Speaker of the Oyo House of Assembly, Debo Ogundoyin made this statement in Yoruba where he alleged that the Government did not approve the construction of Eruwa road and that he spent his personal money on the road, in fact he claimed to have actually smuggled the construction into the budget.
This revelation is causing ripples in Oyo State political space with the opposition having a field day, taunting Governor Seyi Makinde with the awkward revelation from the Speaker.
Political pundits had earlier predicted doom for the Speaker, son of late billionaire, Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin as it was reported that his kinsmen had threatened a show down, alleging he influenced nothing meaningful towards the town in their four years administration.
The Speaker who was trying to absolve himself of any blame was spotted under a tree meeting with his constituents where he informed them of the role he played.
The video circulated like a wildfire and there was absence in the camp of Governor Seyi Makinde indicating that the Governor’s handlers adopted silence as a mode of crisis management.
It was later revealed that the Governor approved and released mobilization funds for the construction of the road some days after the video went viral.
The fate of the Oyo Assembly Speaker, Debo Ogundoyin hangs in the balance as neither the Governor nor his kinsmen are revealing their next move toward his re election.
Why Oyo Speaker’s Mum, Tina Ogundoyin Parted Ways With Her Best Friend

They both shared a lot in common, married to successful and wealthy men, pretty, fashionable and they ruled the social circle together some years ago. You can hardly see Tina Ogundoyin and Hanna Afolabi would be missing. The pretty duo formed a formidable team, the envy of all other women in Ibadan where they live.
While Tina Ogundoyin, the mother of the current Speaker of Oyo State House Of Assembly, Debo is the widow of business mogul, late Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin, Chief Mrs Hanna Afolabi is the widow of the Iree born politician and late Minister of Internal Affairs, Chief SM Afolabi.
They both hold traditional titles, Hanna Afolabi is the ‘Yeye Apesin’ and Tina Ogundoyin also holds a respectable title bestowed on her from her husband’s town, Eruwa.
Friendship brought them together, soon after they became sisters with one watching out for the other before an unforeseen circumstance hits their friendship.
Those in the know claimed the friendship crumbled as a result of envy and backbiting.
There were several attempts by their other friends to reconcile them, but they both claimed to have had enough, going separate ways and not looking back.
After the separation, Chief Mrs Tina Ogundoyin plunged herself into business and engaged in politics while Chief Mrs Hanna Afolabi went back to school, earned a degree at the University of Ibadan and is now a contractor and a member of the Governing Body of the Premier University.
Oyo Speaker, Debo Ogundoyin Treats Mum To Lavish 61st Birthday

Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Debo Ogundoyin displayed his huge love for his mother, Chief Mrs Tina Ogundoyin yesterday as she clocked 60.
Debo, 33 staged a surprise dinner for his mum at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Jericho, Ibadan.
The unsuspecting socialite was tricked into the venue where the Oyo State Deputy Governor, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan, some House of Assembly members, family, friends and well wishers were already seated.
The event was a gathering of the who-is-who in Oyo political and social circles.
It was a voyage of music, food, drinks and commendations.
Chief Mrs Tina Ogundoyin is a prominent socialite that has ruled the Ibadan and Lagos social space for several years. She is the wife of late successful businessman, Chief Adesegun Ogundoyin who died many years ago.

Intense Lobbying As 32-year-old Lawmaker, Debo Ogundoyin Sets To Become Oyo Assembly Speaker

The race has began! The lobbying to fill key positions as a new government is being prepared to take over the State in May, 2019.
One of the key positions, the office of the Speaker which is regarded as the number three position in the State is said to be tilted towards the side of a 32-year-old lawmaker, Debo Ogundoyin.
Debo, one of the children of late business mogul, Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin was elected into the Oyo State parliament after he won a bye-election when the Speaker of the house died and he won the APC candidate to occupy the vacant seat.
Adebowale is representing the Ibarapa East constituency and he is said to be the only returned member of the 26-PDP members that form the majority in the 32-members Assembly.
Ogundoyin, an agronomist is a graduate of the Babcock University and is claimed to be the perfect man for the seat based on different calculations.
His dream to occupy the number three seat is not also enjoying a smooth sail as his marital status, experience and some other factors are part of the hurdles to be scaled.
