SSS, Police Fight Over Arrest Attempt On Niger Governor’s CPS

The attempt by the SSS to arrest the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello, Ibrahim Dooba has pitched the security outfit against the State police which also constitute a larger part of the government’s security.

From information sourced by papermache, the Governor’s CPS, Dooba some days ago attacked an operative of the SSS who is attached to the office of the State’s Deputy-Governor.

The SSS officer was said to have denied Dooba an entrance into the Deputy-Governor’s office and was slapped and beaten by the Governor’s media aide.

The wounded officer was said to have reported the attack to his superiors who ordered the arrest of the CPS.

The CPS’s arrest was said to have been prevented by Governor Bello’s ADC who reportedly gave the CPS some armed security and ordered him to be driven to a safer place.

This action was said to have irked the SSS officials who went into hot argument with the police officers who felt slighted that the police prevented them from arresting Dooba.

The SSS was said to have written to the Governor to sack Dooba so he can be arrested and prosecuted for assaulting a Federal officer.

Governor Abubakar Bello was said to have pleaded to the SSS to give him time to investigate the matter personally and decides on what to do.

In the mean time the CPS is said to be in hiding as his phones have been switched off for the fear that the SSS could trace his where about from the calls he makes or receives.
