The ugly side of politics in Oyo State had once again reared its head with violence recorded at some major campaign points across the state, especially the capital city of Ibadan.

Youthful House of Representatives member, Dapo Lam-Adesina escaped death by the whiskers recently when he was attacked during his campaign.

Narrating the incident, a member of the lawmaker’s campaign team painted a scary picture to Papermacheonline where he revealed how they were waylaid, macheted and beaten mercilessly.

Giving a graphic detail, he claimed ‘we were headed towards the interior part of Ibadan to continue our campaign when we were waylaid, Dapo was lucky to have escaped as he was shot at…it was a sight I never believed could happen’.

On the other hand, the PDP governorship candidate in Oyo State, Seyi Makinde was not spared the violence. His campaign train was also attacked at the Ojoo side of Ibadan where scores of his supporters were wounded.

The Makon boss through a statement released by his media aide, Dotun Oyelade alleged the APC to have masterminded the attacks. In the statement Makinde said it was natural for the APC candidate, Bayo Adelabu to be anxious at the turn of events and advised him not to revert to self help where there is no provocation.

Papermacheonline reliably gathered that both Seyi Makinde and Dapo Lam-Adesina resolved to increase their security after the attacks.

Dapo whose face-off with the Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi led to his dumping of the APC to pitch his tent with the ADC works on his security from time to time as he was said to have taken serious a threat by Governor Ajimobi to ‘deal with him seriously’.
