Details have emerged on the embarrassing situation that the ex-Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi found himself in his last day in office.
A source revealed to papermacheonline how the Rivers State ex-Governor was held inside the Government House in Port-Harcourt for close to four hours by his security details over the non-payment of their 8 months allowance.
‘The Governor was locked up and prevented from coming out while his security  team threatened to shoot if he dares come out’ says the source.

The politician’s security team complained of his uncaring attitude asking if he doesn’t pay the Israeli security he contracted after he started having issues with President Goodluck Jonathan.
The incident allegedly happened on Thursday May 28th, 2015 when Governor Amaechi was preparing to travel to Abuja for President Muhammadu Buhari’s inauguration.
Amaechi’s primary security details which consist of 8 Israeli agents were said to have engaged the angry security in a verbal exchange and it was the arrival of the State Commissioner of Police that saved the situation.

The police Commissioner was invited by the Governor who appeared very angry and claimed the situation was a deliberate act to embarrass him.

The police chief was said to have calmed his men with a promise that the Governor would get back to them.

The security team were said to have sensed that the Governor’s visit to Abuja would be his last as he only made his security arrangement with the Israeli team and that was why they chose to hold him up .
A similar occurrence was said to have been avoided at the State Secretariat where the civil servants also threatened a showdown with the Governor who did not attend a valedictory service held for him by the state officials.
Papermacheonline spoke with an aide of the ex-Governor who preferred not to have his name mentioned.
His response was ‘it was a lie that he owes them for 8-months, they only demanded for parting gifts which was not compulsory and they didn’t even hold him hostage, how can you hold a Governor hostage on his birthday?’
