News Of Gov Akeredolu’s Return Sparks Wild Jubilation

There is excitement this afternoon in the camp of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu as the news hits town that the Ondo Governor will return to Nigeria today.

 

The lawyer turned politician was ferried out  to Germany some months ago to treat cancer and he is said to have been in a good shape to return to Nigeria.

 

A report monitored on Tribuneonline hinted that the Governor would arrive the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja any moment soon.

 

Officials of Ondo State and some friends of the Governor were said to have been spotted at the airport waiting for his arrival.

 

While away on medical leave, Akeredolu’s Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been the acting- Governor.

Ex-Gov Akala’s ADC Commits Suicide In Ogbomoso

Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Gbolahan Oyedemi, reportedly hung himself in his apartment in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

The deceased senior police officer, who was said to have gone home for the Easter celebration, was alone located at his Petros Academy Street, Federal Low-cost area residence.

Late Oyedemi who was in his 50s was Aide de Camp to late Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala during his eleven-month tenure as governor (January to December 2006

When ogbomosoinsightonline.com arrived at the residence at Petros Academy Street, Federal Low Cost area the police had cordoned off the area but sympathizers were seen in groups discussing the matter in a hushed tone.

“Sometimes he came home with police security l saw him recently driving personally into his beautiful mansion,” a neighbour said.

National Insight reported a police source hinted about a quick investigation into what could lead to the tragic end of a gallant Deputy Police Commissioner.

In her tribute, widow of the late Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu ignited some emotions as she gave an insight to her 42 years marriage to the lawyer.

 

Akeredolu was laid to rest in Owo, his hometown after a funeral service at the St Andrew’s Church, Owo which was well attended.

 

Betty Akeredolu’s tributes headlined the funeral programme as she detailed her love-life with the late Governor, their challenges and triumphs.

 

Dignitaries at the burial ceremony include the Ondo State Governor Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Governors of Oyo, Ogun, Lagos, Osun, Ekiti, Edo, Delta, Anambra and Benue States, Engineer Seyi Makinde, Dapo Abiodun, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Abiodun Oyebanji, Godwin Obaseki, Sheriff Oborevwori, Charles Soludo and Hyacinth Alia respectively and the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje and host of others.
