Makinde To Reward 3sc, Hails Club Return To Premier League

Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has praised the resounding success recorded by the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) by securing the long-awaited promotion to the elite Nigerian Premier Football League.

He maintained that the promotion is in line with his campaign promise to get the Oluyole Warriors promoted to the elite league within two years of assumption of office, stating that the commitment and patriotism of the players and management are highly commendable.

3SC, on Saturday, defeated Ekiti United FC 6-0 in the final game of the Super Eight, to wrap up the Super Eight League as winners of the Group B Conference.
The team had earlier defeated Bendel Insurance 2-1 and played 1-1 draw with Remo Stars FC to scoop a total of seven points to top Group B.

The Oluyole Warriors will play Niger Tornadoes FC of Niger, which topped Group A of the Super 8 on Sunday, to determine the overall winner of the 2020/21 Nigeria National League.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Makinde, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, quoted the governor as praising the doggedness and resilience of the 3SC players and coaching staff, who have presented a golden gift to the people of Oyo State.
“We are sincerely happy to see our darling team, 3SC, back where it belongs: the Nigerian Premier Football League.
“It gladdens my heart that the feat is achieved just a few days after we unveiled the remodelled, world-class Lekan Salami Sport Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan, the befitting home of the Shooting Stars.

“I rejoice with the government and good people of Oyo State on this wonderful achievement by our darling team and especially the return of good football to Ibadan.

“Surely, the Government of Oyo State will ensure that the players and technical crew are rewarded for bringing us this joyful moment.

“I equally assure that the Government of Oyo State will join hands with all stakeholders to ensure that our people watch interesting games in the classy Lekan Salami Sports complex every week.

“Let me congratulate the players and technical team of the 3SC for bringing back the glory of our football and for giving us this joyful moment to savour.
“As a government, we will do everything possible to reward the players and management of the 3SC for this amazing feat and wonderful achievement, which is in fulfilment of our campaign promise to get the 3SC promoted to the NPFL within two years of assumption of office.

“We will also support the team to reach for greater heights in the not too distant future. As a government, we have made the commitment to transform the sport sector so as to create employment for the teeming youths of the state. This promotion has brought us closer to the realisation of that commitment and we will do everything in our capacity to bring it to fruition,” Makinde said

The Lagos State House of Assembly convened for a crucial legislative session yesterday, but an unexpected absence stole the spotlight, the ousted Speaker Mudashiru Obasa was nowhere to be seen. The sitting, which focused on key legislative matters and a commendation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, went on without Obasa, raising eyebrows among lawmakers and political observers alike.

New Speaker Mojisola Meranda presided over the proceedings, ensuring the session ran smoothly. During deliberations, the lawmakers took turns applauding President Tinubu for his strides in governance, particularly his economic and infrastructural policies aimed at revitalizing Lagos and Nigeria as a whole. However, whispers about Obasa’s absence could not be ignored.

Sources within the Assembly remained tight-lipped on the reason for his nonappearance, fueling speculation.

Born 47 years ago to a prominent and royal family of Owoade-Agunloye in Oyo town, Prince Akeem Owoade is one of the surviving children of Pa Rasaki Ibiyosi Owoade, the descendant of Aremo Aderounmu Iyanda Owoade, Agure Compound, Oyo town in Oyo State, Nigeria.

Prince Akeem Owoade completed his secondary school education at Baptist High School, Saki, Oyo State, Nigeria in 1992. His father worked for Oyo North Agricultural Development Programme (ONADEP) helping Oke-Ogun community in boosting agricultural productivity.

aking an early interest in engineering, Prince AkeemOwoade began his engineering studies by completing his National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from ‘The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State (1994 to 1997) and The Polytechnic, Ibadan (1999 to 2001), Oyo State. Nigeria respectively. Panic As Governor’s Official Car Got Stolen

Confusion and fear was the order of the day at one of the Government houses in the Southwest some days ago when one of the official vehicles of the Governor, a bullet-proof jeep allegedly disappeared from the garage.

The SUV which is said to be one of the three bullet-proof vehicles being used for the Governor’s official assignment was discovered missing.

The Governor who was out of the country on a short, rest leave was claimed to have been disturbed when he was alerted.

Sources claimed it wasn’t the first time things would get missing at the Governor’s private residence.

‘There had been series of thefts, ranging from missing cash, phones and other expensive items, it’s usually swept under the carpet. Indiscipline is the order of the day here’, a source confirmed this to papermacheonline.

The State Governor, a quiet individual who is spending his second time in office was said to have been disturbed by the occurrence that he had to cut short his leave and return home. One of his closest aides was also kidnapped recently.
