A week to his 60th birthday the scion of the Ibru dynasty, Olorogun Oskar Ibru was popping champagne and munching finger foods with friends when his son, Chris got married to Ibiyinka Akinola. The gathering at the socialite’s Lagos home knew what was coming as he used the soiree to invite his friends to his 60th birthday.
Many who witnessed his 50th birthday party ten years ago were not surprised when they reached the scenic Ibru Heights Resorts in Aburi, Ghana and beheld a grand ceremony fit for only an Ibru in display.
The pool side of the 5-star recreation centre was occupied with friends and family members that were strictly screened by the billionaire businessman to be part of his big day.
Oskar who favoured a casual wear of t.shirt and shorts was on hand to see that his guests were well taken care of while his pretty wife, Wanda moved around to gauge the mood at the party and engaged in chit-chat with friends and asociates.
Spotted at the private party were Lady Maiden Ibru, Gloria Ibru, Greg Uanseru, Ian Randolph, Gaddy Larea, Debbie Oghene, Segun Adebutu, Antonio Giovanni, Ete Omatseye and many others.
With news of a raging feud amongst the Ibru clan, the former Managing Director of Oceanic bank, Cecelia Ibru was absent at the party, likewise her son Obaro. But the family must have been equally represented with the presence of Oboden who was at the party and acted in his usual calm manner.
The light lunch was followed by a praise worship and later a VIP dinner at Accra.
A lover of the good life…cars, clothes and choice drinks Oskar is a king in his own kingdom.
