Real Reasons Wasiu Ayinde Was Absent From Ayinde Barrister’s Posthumous Birthday

The 72nd birthday of late fuji legend, Sikiru Ayinde Barrister held some days ago at the Conference Centre of the University of Ibadan.

The event tagged 72 Legends For Barry was well attended with dignitaries like the former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, Alhaji Muideen Ajani Bello, Chief Latted Oyelade, Oloye Lekan Alabi, Alhaji Iyanda Sawaba and many other people. Surprisingly the prominent fuji musicians who are mostly proteges of the late musician were absent from the event.

Their absence was noticed and it drew condemnation from islamic cleric, Alahaji Muideen Bello who scolded the new Mayegun of Yorubaland, Wasiu Ayinde, Obesere, Pasuma and other fuji acts who missed the important event.

The new Mayegun of Yorubaland, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde reacted to the news that he missed the posthumous birthday of his mentor.

K1 who was believed to had briefly worked with the late fuji musician as a young man learning the ropes in the industry defended himself with claims that he didn’t get an invitation from the organisers.

K1’s publicist, Kunle Rasheed in a phone conversation with this writer claimed the musician never got an invite from the organisers. In his words, the seasoned journalist said ‘honestly he didn’t get an invite. Barry is someone he respects so much, why would he ignore such event? I can tell you that he didn’t get an invite’.

The other artistes, Pasuma and Obesere are yet to make public the reasons they failed to attend the event.
